Lumae beta

Join the beta

iPhone and Android · Updated October 13, 2026

The Lumae beta is free and open to anyone who runs their own music. On iPhone, join with TestFlight in a few minutes, no invite needed. On Android, sign up and I'll email you when it opens.

Before you start

  • A music server: Navidrome, or Jellyfin 12.0 or newer.
  • Sound analysis: AudioMuse-AI 3.2 or newer with the Lumae Analysis plugin (1.6.0 or newer for Jellyfin).
  • A phone: an iPhone on iOS 16.4 or newer, or Android 7.0 or newer.

iPhone

  1. Install TestFlight

Get Apple's free TestFlight app from the App Store.

  2. Open the beta link on your iPhone

Open testflight.apple.com/join/hnmuWX6h, then tap Accept and Install. If you got an email invite, it opens the same beta.

  3. Connect your servers

Open Lumae and follow the setup. Turn on automatic updates in TestFlight to get each new build.

Android

The Android beta is waiting for Google Play's review. Sign up with the form and I'll email you as soon as it's open.

No server yet?

Try Lumae in Demo Mode: on the first screen, pull down, tap ⋮ at the top right, then Enter Demo Mode. Five royalty-free songs show you around. When you're ready, Exit Demo Mode in Settings takes you back to setup.

Updates and feedback

New builds arrive through TestFlight. Smaller fixes arrive by themselves: open Lumae, leave it open for about 20 seconds, then close and reopen it.

Tell me what Lumae got right and what felt slow, repetitive or confusing. For a problem, go to Library ≡ → Settings → About & help → Export diagnostic log and email the log to apps@rendyjansen.com. On iPhone you can also send screenshots from TestFlight.

Leaving the beta

On iPhone, open TestFlight, choose Lumae and tap Stop Testing. When Lumae comes to the App Store and Google Play, installing it there replaces the beta and keeps your library and settings.

Joining on iPhone goes through Apple, who shares details such as your email address with me so I can run the beta; the Android sign-up is a Google Form. See the privacy policy.
